“Zindan Free Restaurant”

Zindan Free Restaurant is an artistic public service offering free meal under the condition of client’s temporary imprisonment inside traditional underground jail (zindan). Implemented for the first time at FourЭ festival near Almaty, it showed that the idea of exchanging one’s freedom for food is well understood, accepted and appreciated by the local society at large.
