Prefix “per” in the word “performance” means “through”, or even “thoroughly”, and derives from Greek prefix “peri-”, meaning “around”. Our suggestion is to take a walk around performance, as if observing it’s peri-meter through peri-scope. Can we discern any smaller subgenres, or subcategories, “through” or “around” which the wide notion of “performance” is constituted ? What if we use some other prefixes to describe those lesser actions?
